We are now in the final Fall stretch of the 2023 elections, with a number of key races coming out of September.

In the September 5 Rhode Island First Congressional District Special Election Primary, former Biden White House staffer Gabe Amo won the Democratic primary -- putting him on track to become the first person of color to represent The Ocean State in Congress.

In Utah's Second Congressional District Special Election Primary, Celeste Maloy, legal counsel to outgoing Congressman Chris Stewart, won the GOP nomination and will face Democrat and State Senate Minority Whip Kathleen Riebe in the general election.

Local businessman Arunan Arulampalam won the September 12 Hartford, Connecticut Democratic mayoral primary, making him the overwhelming favorite to win in November. Charlotte, North Carolina Mayor Vi Lyles is headed to a second term after easily dismissing a primary challenge with 85.4% of the vote.

Nashville, Tennessee's new mayor is progressive Metro Council member Freddie O'Connell (D), who triumphed over conservative GOP consultant Alice Rolli in the September 14 mayoral runoff with 63.9% of the vote.
