Greetings from Austin!
DemList is on the road at the Democratic National Committee's Summer meeting this week in Texas -- the country's second-largest presidential electoral state, and one on the cusp of electing its first statewide Democrat in over three decades.
The energy among the 1,000+ members, staff, and guests from every corner of the country is palpable as Democrats continue to ride the seemingly unstoppable momentum of a historic off-year election.
The unprecedented investment in the states made by sometimes embattled Party Chair Ken Martin is credited with Democrats having won or overperformed in 90% of 2025s legislative and special elections.
The DNC's biannual gathering, convening at the Hilton Austin Downtown twelve weeks before the critical 2026 midterms, will wrap up Saturday with the four-hour General Session, where the Officers and 452 DNC members will get down to the nuts and bolts business of the party.
