DemDaily: No Kings Day! We Chose Democracy

On Saturday, October 18, millions of people will take to the streets, united in protest of President Donald Trump's escalating authoritarian regime and to remind him and the world that America has no thrones, no crowns and no kings!

With an anticipated 2,500+ events planned nationally and internationally, this is expected to be the largest single day of action since Trump was sworn in for a second term.

From the People's March two days before his inauguration, the Day Without Immigrants, Stand Up for Science and the 50501 movement (50 protests, 50 states, one day), to the revolt against Elon Musk's DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency), May Day, the Hands Off and Good Trouble actions, there have been over a dozen nationwide mass protests and hundreds of smaller demonstrations -- unprecedented in history since the Civil Rights movement.

The Trump administration has since doubled down — sending militarized agents into our communities, threatening to overtake elections, silencing voters, gutting healthcare, environmental protections, and education, and driving up the cost of living while handing out massive giveaways to billionaire allies as families struggle.

This isn’t just politics. It’s democracy versus dictatorship. And together, we’re choosing democracy.

The October 18 No Kings Day is mobilized by Indivisible, ACLU, 50501 Movement, and a coalition of more than 200 national and state partners, alliances, and unions that have come together to help organize the event and the resistance.

We’re not watching history happen -- we’re making it. Join us.
