DemDaily: Michelle, the Movement & Michael Moore

January 17, 2017

First Lady Michelle Obama celebrates her birthday today - as she prepares in her final week in the White House and the Inauguration - just three days away.

The former executive, attorney, public servant and supermom, who has an unprecedented public approval rating of 68% (her hubby's is 58%), will unquestionably go down as one of the greatest First Ladies and role models in History.

The lady and her legacy are also the inspiration for many participating in the Women's March on Washington and its sister events in cities across the country.

Said one Ohio volunteer, it is "about following her advice in the wake of the presidential election: 'When they go low, we go high.' "

SO, time to RiseUp!
DemList will provide Daily updates on the March and featured events through the week!

RiseUp!
A Night to Come Together around values of inclusion and opportunity - a fun night for progressives, players and organizers to bond to some cool music and good company. Special Guests include Senator Al Franken!

"We live in very troubling times.
And yet we have faced major challenges before.
We persevered, and we will again
To continue bending the arc towards justice
There is only one way forward. Together.
So while they celebrate their victory,
Let us celebrate as well
Who we are, what we care about and most important,
By organizing our community."
