DemDaily: Join Labor & Elected Leaders: A Conversation on Infrastructure and the Election

September 23, 2020

The crisis at hand: Not only is the nation reeling under the impact and mismanagement of the COVID crisis, but the economic fallout threatens to become a runaway train. We need a powerful financial driver which will rebuild the real industrial and manufacturing economy, and the most proven answer is a massive infrastructure program.

The Democratic Party Platform calls for the creation of a public Infrastructure Bank, dedicated to investments which would "build infrastructure projects of national or regional significance, including in rail and transit, clean energy and water infrastructure, broadband, and affordable housing. Projects that receive assistance from the bank will be required to follow Buy America and Buy Clean provisions, pay Davis-Bacon prevailing wages, utilize project labor agreements, and ensure employers remain neutral in workers' organizing efforts."

Join the Rhode Island Democratic Party, Congressman Seth Moulton (D-MA), labor leaders, elected officials, economic and infrastructure experts for a virtual conversation on H.R. 6422, The National Infrastructure Bank Act of 2020, high-speed rail, and 25 million new jobs!

The proposed National Infrastructure Bank is modeled on the principles of national banking developed first by Treasury Secretary Alexander Hamilton. Similar National Banks were successfully used by four great US Presidents to build our nation: George Washington, John Quincy Adams, Abraham Lincoln and Franklin Roosevelt

Rebuild Rural and Urban America: Learn how we can fix collapsing infrastructure and build new 21st century programs, including High Speed Rail, New Water Projects, and Universal Broadband, pay Davis-Bacon wages, and use American-made products -- at no cost to the taxpayer!

"The National Infrastructure Bank Act of 2020" (H.R. 6422) is sponsored by Congressman Danny Davis (IL)

Endorsing Organizations: National Association of Counties, the American Sustainable Business Council, the National Association of Minority Contractors, the National Latino Farmers and Ranchers Trade Association, the Virginia State AFL-CIO, the Westchester-Putnam Counties, New York AFL-CIO Labor Board, the Virginia Democratic Party, the Pennsylvania Democratic Party and more.

With this policy Democrats can win at every level, from the statehouse to the White House!
