DemDaily: Democratic Convention Deadlines!

The 2020 Democratic Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin may not take place for almost six months, but planning is well underway.

If you are an allied organization or media, you may have received this information from the Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC) or the Milwaukee Host Committee staff, but to help all, a reminder of the following immediate deadlines.

The Democratic National Convention, which will be held July 13-16, 2020 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is the formal event, every four years, in which Party delegates and members convene to choose their nominees for President and Vice President. 
At the Convention, the Party also adopts the official Democratic Party platform as well as the rules and procedures governing party activities, including the nomination process for presidential candidates in the next election cycle.

Housing and Credentials Requests Deadline: January 31, 2020
Hotel assignments will be finalized by early Spring and decisions about credentials will be made in late Spring. Apply Here

The Milwaukee 2020 Host Committee's exceptional venue portal connects local venues of all kinds with organizations and individuals interested in hosting events around the Democratic National Convention. Their Venue FAQ page covers it all, but you can direct questions to

Housing Application Deadline: January 31, 2020
The Democratic National Convention Committee has a limited number of hotel rooms to allocate to credentialed media outlets. One request form per outlet. Apply Here.
Workspace Application DeadlineFebruary 7, 2020
To request media workspace (i.e. press stand seats, workstation, broadcast positions, or a spot on media row), you must apply as part of your credential application. Apply Here.

The Milwaukee 2020 Host Committee just launched its official volunteer portal, where those interested in becoming Convention volunteers can register and build their volunteer profiles. The Committee is building a "a robust, diverse, and engaged team of 15,000 volunteers."  Check it out Here!

DemList will, once again, be hosting the Convention Calendar, which will launch next month and will be free to all to post and promote their events. In 2016, participants posted close to 600 official, unofficial, private and public events to the DemList Convention Calendar.
