DemDaily: The “Broken Promises” Breakdown

April 24, 2017
This week kicks off the countdown to Donald Trump's 100th day in office, and the anticipated daily analysis between now and April 29th, of campaign promises kept or broken.

"The First 100 Days" of a president's administration is the traditional marker for measuring the progress of a new administration's success. Although he touted the deadline during the campaign, Trump recently dismissed the benchmark as "a ridiculous standard."

"President Trump's first 100 days have been a disastrous parade of broken promises to working people, handouts to wealthy special interests, and deep damage to the health and economic security of America's families." - House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi

Following the just-released NBC/WSJ poll that shows Trump's job approval rating at 40% and a 54% job disapproval performance rating, we can expect a busy week online, on the ground, and on the airwaves between a White House in defensive overdrive, and a Democratic Party on full attack.

In conjunction with a media call this morning, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (NY), House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (CA) and DNC Chair Tom Perez released a joint Special Report: PRESIDENT TRUMP'S FIRST 100 DAYS: BROKEN PROMISES TO THE MIDDLE CLASS -- outlining how the "Trump Administration's Broken Promises and Government by Chaos Has Hurt Americans."

The five-page report lays out talking points and references for key areas where the President has failed on his campaign promises: Jobs and the Economy, Health Care, "Draining the Swamp" and the Budget.

"Not only has he drained the swamp, he has filled it worth more alligators"
-- DNC Chair Tom Perez
