DemDaily: An Emboldened Biden Addresses DNC
September 9, 2022
President Joe Biden spoke to a fired-up crowd last night, closing out day two of the Democratic National Committee's (DNC) Summer meeting, held this year at the Gaylord National Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland.
The bi-annual event brings together the roughly 450 members of the DNC, most of whom are elected from each state and territory at the local level, to discuss party business.
The four-day political passion fest began with Wednesday's meeting of the Association of State Democratic Committees (ASDC), one of approximately 20 affiliate organizations under the umbrella of the DNC, followed by an opening reception hosted by the Maryland Democratic Party.
Thursday and Friday's Caucus, Council and Regional meetings were highlighted with guest speakers, including Second Gentlemen Doug Emhoff and a smattering of candidates and supporters.

Last night's rabble-rousing speech by Biden reflected the recent shift in political winds for Democrats and the enthusiasm of a president who appears to finally be rewarded for his accomplishments in the eyes of American voters.
The DNC meeting will conclude after Saturday's General Session, which will feature remarks by Vice President Kamala Harris.
Watch for our wrap-up Monday on the outcome.
