The 2016 Democratic Convention will be held July 25-28, 2016 in Philadelphia at The Wells Fargo Center & Pennsylvania Convention Center.

Sanders Announcement: Sources say Senator Bernie Sanders is expected to endorse Hillary Clinton at a rally in New Hampshire Tuesday (details to come!).

Democrats: Senators Tim Kaine (VA), Cory Booker (NJ), and Elizabeth Warren (MA).
Republicans: Former Speaker Newt Gingrich, Governors Mike Pence (IN) and Chris Christie (NJ) and Senator Jeff Sessions (AL).

The Platform

DNC Platform Committee Members

The DNC will hold its fourth and final regional public hearing today, July 8th & tomorrow, July 9th in Orlando, Florida. The full Convention Platform Committee will meet to review and deliberate the first draft of the Democratic plank of issues approved by the Platform Drafting Committee at the earlier June 25th meeting.

If approved by the full Platform Committee of 187 members from across the country, it will be presented for ratification at the Democratic National Convention.

Official Convention Schedule & Caucus Meetings
The official hall and floor schedule has not been released, but the schedule for the DNC's 20+ constituency caucuses are public. See DemDaily: Caucus Schedule!

The Secret Service has released a map of road closings during the Convention, so that attendees can begin to plan their routes to and from hotels, meetings and other areas of interest. See the Details and Map!

Open Events
Admittance to the Wells Fargo Center and the official convention floor activities requires credentials - which are designated to delegates, media, elected officials and volunteers. However, the smaller council and caucus meetings which take place throughout the day at the Pennsylvania Convention Center are open to the public.

There will also be a number of fun Convention-related events around town that will be open to the public, including Politifest, PhillyFest, Center City Sips, watch parties and DonkeysAroundTown. See Philly Host Events and check the DemList Convention Calendar for open events.
